What A Typical Job Looks Like For A Commercial Cleaner

Not a lot of people really know what it takes to be a commercial cleaner, and all of the experiences that come alongside it. Today we’re going to highlight the experience of a commercial cleaner. This commercial cleaner works in a large building with multiple businesses; their job is to clean all of the common areas, including the staircases and hallways. Read on in this article to see what a typical commercial cleaning job looks like from the perspective of a commercial cleaner!

When the cleaner first arrives at the building, the first thing that they do is take a look around and assess the dirtiness. Although there are things that they have to do every single week, there might be parts of the building that are particularly dirty and need special attention. If there are no outlandishly dirty spots in the building, they get to work with sweeping. There is nothing to dust in this building, which is why they start with sweeping. In residential cleaning or office cleaning for example, cleaners would want to make sure that they are dusting before they sweep. That way they can sweep up any dust that falls to the floor. Since this is not a problem at the building, the cleaner immediately jumps into sweeping all of the hallways, staircases, and small common rooms.

After sweeping, the cleaner wipes down all of the windows. Then the cleaner has to mop everything. After that, the cleaner wipes down the railings. It may seem counter intuitive to wipe the railings after already mopping, but there can be problems if they were to do that. The railings are very low and have multiple levels, and mop water easily splashes onto them, making them dirty. The railings also have to be used while going up and down the stairs to refill the mop bucket, which makes them dirty. This is a perfect example of how you must tailor your cleaning to each individual and unique building. What may be the status quo may not work for another building. After sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and wiping down the insides of windows, the cleaner is all done with their job!
